First of all, Tell me a bit about yourself.
—> I am Xana or that’s at least what I want them to call me for my life to be separated from my job. I am a super outgoing person and open to those who want to open up with me.
When and how did you decide to become a teacher?—> The job came to me without asking for it when I was in college and from that moment on. I went for training until I officially decided to be a teacher.
Tell us about your experience working with foreign students.
—> Foreign students come with different educational background and culture so the experience has been ecstatic and explainable.
How do you make learning and studying fun for students?
—> I have always been myself and give them what they need and not what they want. I also set rules in class for them to know what to expect in class.
How can you help students that are not doing good speaking?
—> I often encourage students to mingle with other foreign students rather than with their own people. Also, I always make it to the point that they express themselves in class as much as they can.
Besides speaking, what modes of teaching do you use?
—> Reading, grammar, IELTS lessons, TOEIC and TOEFL.
What is the most difficult aspect of teaching English?
—> I think it is being with students who have zero interest in learning English.
What was the most challenging student you’ve taught? No names, please!
Those who are not interested to accept their mistakes and those who think that they are always right.
What can you offer our school that another teacher cannot?
—> I think I could be helpful to students to be more sociable and open-minded.
Lastly, what do you think about Student-Teacher relationships?
—> I think it is one of the fastest ways for a student to adjust in a learning environment because they can get useful information from teachers.
