Working Holiday

Get ready to live, work, and travel abroad with practical English for real workplaces and everyday situations, plus optional OJT internship preparation.

Overview

About this course

The Working Holiday English course is designed for students joining working holiday visa programs abroad who want to improve their English for both professional and everyday situations. It develops practical language abilities students can immediately apply while living, working, and traveling overseas. Through individual and group lessons, learners are trained to communicate confidently in workplaces, accommodations, transportation, restaurants, and social settings.

The course emphasizes practical communication, job-specific vocabulary, listening, pronunciation, and conversational fluency. Learners practice common workplace scenarios such as job interviews, customer service, teamwork, giving instructions, and handling inquiries, while also gaining confidence with daily tasks like shopping, asking for directions, making reservations, and interacting with locals from different cultural backgrounds.

To keep learning engaging, the program uses speaking prompts, role-play, discussions, and situational exercises that simulate real life abroad, plus cultural awareness and communication etiquette. By the end, students have the communication skills, vocabulary, and confidence to work, travel, and live independently in a foreign country.

Common questions about this course

Answers taken from this course's timetable and from our main FAQ.

How many classes will I have each day?+
On a normal study day you have 4 one-on-one classes, which means just you and one teacher. You also have 2 group classes with students at a similar level, which is where you practice discussion and get used to different accents.
Is the evening class required?+
No. The evening session is optional on this course, so you can take it on the days you want it and rest on the others. It is the ECA and EAA session, and there is a longer write-up on what the ECA and EAA activities involve.
How often will I be tested?+
Vocabulary tests: Mandatory for the first 4 weeks.
Can I join as a complete beginner?+
Yes. On your first day you take a level test covering speaking, listening, reading, and writing, and your classes are matched to your exact level. Because the lessons are one-on-one, the pace is always yours, so beginners settle in quickly.
How is this different from your other courses?+
The class mix is the main difference: how many one-on-one classes you get, whether group classes are included, and whether the evening class and the tests are required. You can see every course side by side on the course comparison page.
